YOUTH limilmimm
A second Greater Detroit
United Synagogue Youth
Shabbat will take place Jan.
9 at 10:15 a.m. at Cong. Beth
Shalom.
The program, sponsored by
the six chapters of the
Greater Detroit United
Synagogue Youth, was
organized this fall. Ellen
Sherman, youth director at
Adat Shalom Synagogue,
which hosted the initial
GDUSY Shabbat in
November, said that the pro-
gram was designed to •
enhance the opportunity for
Jewish youth from
throughout the community to
pray together.
Following youth services,
all high school-aged students
are invited to eat lunch and
listen to a special guest
speaker, arranged by the host
congregation. Housing will be
provided for those who walk
to synagogue.
Future GDUSY Shabbat
events will be held Feb. 13 at
Cong. Beth Achim, March 19
at Cong. Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses, April 30 at
Cong. B'nai Moshe and May
21 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
