Special Singles Weekend
Comes To Area Temple

A special weekend event for
singles in the community, in-
cluding a singles service,
speakers and workshops will
take place Feb. 26-27 at the
Birmingham Temple.
The theme for the weekend
is "Relationships — Sharing
Our Lives with Others." The
weekend begins with Rabbi
Sherwin Wine's annual
singles service. Rabbi Wine's
topic will be "Relationships —
The Three C's." The featured
speaker will be David Blake
who will give a presentation
with music.
Three workshops are being
offered: The spirit of "Com-
mitment," the importance of
"Communication," an a look
at the values needed and the
skills required to "negotiate
and Compromise." The
workshops will be led by Em-
maline Weidman, Rose and
Art Heman and Walt
MacDonald.
The 8:30 p.m. singles ser-
vice will be followed by an
Oneg Shabbat. The Feb. 27
schedule will begin at 11:30
a.m. with a welcome by Rab-
bi Wine followed by Pastor
Blake's presentation and the
three workshops. The after-
noon program will culminate

Lunch Concert
Due For Singles

Community Network for
Jewish Singles will hear the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra
and have lunch at The
Whitney on Jan. 10.
Carpools will meet at 12:30
p.m. at Evergreen and 12
Mile Road in front of the New
York Bagel. Lunch is at 1:30,
symphony at 3:30 p.m.

concert by calling Jill Cole,

'80s" at the Jewish Com-
munity Center at 8 p.m. Jan.

Alaska Cruise
For Singles

An Alaskan cruise for
Jewish singles in the U.S.,
Canada and Israel is now ac-
cepting reservations through
The Connector, a service of
the Midwest Jewish Singles
Network, Inc., a non-profit
organization for helping
Jewish singles to meet. The
Aug. 21-28 trip is booked
through Princess Cruises in
conjunction with Trips and
Travel of Omaha, Neb.
Cost of the cruise is $1,835
based on double occupancy,
with a $250 deposit at the
time of booking. For those
booking before Jan. 15, there
is an "early bird" savings of
$150 off the entire cost of the
trip. The complete balance is
due by June 1.
The trip includes seven
nights of cruising in Alaska
with stops at Columbia
Glacier College Fjord, Glacier
