An Oriental buffet will be served. Babysitting will be provided. Musical entertain- ment will be presented by Jessica Kligman, vocalist. The Machon L'Torah Library, 15221 W. Ten Mile, is open to the public. The library features a large collection of cassette tapes on Jewish philosophy, Jewish law and other subjects as well as a variety of commentaries in English on classical texts such as Artscroll publications and Me'am Lo'Ez Torah An- thology. Books by Rabbi Avigdor Miller, Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, Rabbi Shimol Eider, are also included in the collection. Co-Chairmen of the lun- cheon are Sharon Last, Rochelle Peterson and Susie Rosenfeld. Aid To Displaced Homemakers Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), a non-sectarian agency, offers an on-going displaced homemaker program funded by the Michigan Department of Labor, Office of Women and Work, for individuals in Wayne and Oakland Counties. Displaced homemakers are women who, through divorce, separation, widowhood, or disability of spouse, have lost their source of economic sup- port. The JVS Displaced Homemaker Program pro- vides vocational assessment, vocational counseling, job seeking skills and job place- ment assistance. Eligibility is based on marital and employment status. There are no income guidelines. Interested applicants should call Sherri Lumberg or Louise George, 559-5000, during business hours. Enrollment for the program will take place at the JVS Southfield facility Jan. 15, Feb 15, March 7 and March 28. Slide Program On Synagogues Esther Tarnoff Cooper Beth Abraham Hillel Moses Sisterhood will present Esther Tarnoff Cooper of the Detroit Institute of Arts who will speak on "Synagogues Around the World" at noon Wednesday in the synagogue. Women Plan Oneg Shabbat Beth Achim Sisterhood will hold an Oneg Shabbat for Women's League Sabbath on Jan. 16 at noon, following Shabbat services. Following the luncheon there will be a program of humorous readings by Liz and Rube Weiss. Mr. and Mrs. Weiss have both performed regularly on such original radio dramas as The Lone Ranger, Challenge of the Yukon, Molle Mystery Theatre and more. They have performed on radio and TV commercials and industrial films, including work in Chicago. They have also appeared with the Readers Theater at the Jewish Community Center, sponsored by the In- stitute for Retired Professionals.
