How-To-Cope
Series Slated

Leila Raden, a certified
rehabilitation nurse, will pre-
sent "Adapting to Daily Liv-
ing," a lecture/discussion
series which offers practical
suggestions on how to cope
with physical limitations.
The six-part series, which is
sponsored by the senior adult
department of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Building of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, begins Jan. 11 at 1:30
p.m. at the JPM.
Ms. Raden will show how to
best use adaptive aids to in-
crease mobility and avoid
potential and existing pain.
Accessibility, cost of devices
and whether their cost is
coverd by insurance will be
addressed. She will provide
demonstrations of devices us-
ed in food preparation,
housekeeping, sewing and
laundering.
The topics for the lecture
series are as follows: Jan. 11,
Controlling the Affects of Ar-
thritis; Jan. 18, Keep Going
with Aids to Mobility; Jan.
25, Rub-a-Dub-Dub/Safety in
the Tub; Feb. 1, Maintaining
Independence/Dressing and
Grooming Aids; Feb. 8, At
Your Convenience/
Housekeeping and Kitchen
Aids; Feb. 15, Extending Your
Sight/Increasing Your
Hearing.

persons age 55 and older for
Mah Jongg, Rummy Q.,
Scrabble or other games.

Ladies Dept.
To Have Meeting

The Department of
Michigan Ladies Auxiliary
will have a light breakfast
department meeting on Sun-
day at 10 a.m. at the Jewish
War Veterans Memorial
Home, announces Depart-
ment President Ruth Weiss.
The Zussman Auxiliary and
Bloch-Rose Auxiliary will pro-
vide hostesses for the
breakfast.
The department meeting
will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Florence Weber, junior vice
president, will report on
membership, and Shirley
Schlussel, senior vice presi-
dent, will report on fund rais-
ing. Martha Hauptman will
report on hosptial visits,
Adele Simms will report on
United States bonds and Faye
Glosser, patriotic instructress,
will report on the four recent-
flag presentations. Ida Glass
will report on the lap robe
project and "Eyes for the
Needy," of which she is chair-

Visits Hospital

The Sol Yetz-Morris Cohen
Ladies Auxiliary will service
a group of patients at the
Allen Park Veterans Facility
