More than 100 Jewish
agency board members and
executives will take to the
phones on Allied Jewish
Campaign Super Sunday,
Jan. 24.
Volunteers will be asking
Detroiters to support those in
need at home, in Israel and
elsewhere overseas by mak-
ing their best possible pledge.
Lauren Liss is chairing the
special 2-4:45 p.m. agency ses-
sion, at which representatives
will bring their special exper-
tise about community ser-
vices to Detroit's largest an-
nual telethon on behalf of the
Jewish Welfare Federation's
60 beneficiaries.
Super Sunday calls to
10,000 homes will take place
at the'United Hebrew Schools
in Southfield. In addition to
the 100 agency represen-
tatives, more than 350 other
volunteers will be at work
from 9:30 a.m. through the
evening session, which will be
manned by volunteers from
the Young Adult Division.
Campaign volunteers will
not only ask for pledges, they

will offer the services of
Federation's agencies when
needed. Throughout the Day,
Jewish Information Service
volunteers will be available to
answer questions and handle
referrals.
Ruth Broder and Howard
Tapper are Super Sunday
chairmen.
In conjunction with the
massive telephone appeal, 16
area synagogues and temples
will participate in Federa-
tion/Campaign Sabbath, Jan.
22-23. Guest speakers and
rabbis will highlight the work
of Federation and the Cam-
paign through its 60
worldwide beneficiaries.
