the case and decided not to
take the "extraordinary" step
of opposing Yaron's creden-
tials.
The posters call on the
United States to "Expel This
Diplomat." Also in block type,
the poster asserts that Yaron
has been "disgraced in Israel"
but "honored by America."

Arab Confesses
To Murder

Alfie Menashe (JTA) — A
25-year-old Arab from
Kalkilya has confessed to the
murder of two members of a
Jewish settler family in the
West Bank last April when he
set their car ablaze with a
Molotov cocktail, the Israel
Defense Force announced last
week.
Ofra Moses, 35, from the
settlement of Alfei Menashe,
near Kalkilya, was burned to
death and her 5-year-old son,
Tal, died of burns three
months later. Her husband,
Abraham; their two other
children, Nir, 15, and Adi, 9;
and a friend, Yossi Hilleli, 14,
were all badly burned, but
they recovered.
Theincident on the night of
April 7 aroused fury among
West Bank settlers, who ac-
cused the IDF of failure to
protect them from terrorists.
Several dozen settlers ram-
paged through Kalkilya, the
nearest Arab town, the follow-
ing night.

IDF, Lebanese
Forces Clash

Tel Aviv (JTA) — A South
Lebanon Army fighter was
killed and four were injured
last week during a clash with
ambushing guerrillas near
El-Khayam in the southern
Lebanon security zone. An
Israel Defense Force patrol
came to the help of the SLA
men and killed two of the at-
tackers.
The incident occurred when -
an SLA patrol left its training
base and ran into the mortars
and grenade fire from the
guerrillas, ensconced in the
rocky hillsides. Despite their
casualties, the SLA soldiers
stormed the ambush.
The clash occurred not far
from a position manned by a
Norwegian unit of the
UNIFIL, the United Nations
peace-keeping force. SLA
troops searching the area
sealed off the approaches to
the UNIFIL post, explaining
that guerrillas and terrorists
frequently took shelter in and
around UNIFIL positions.
