Emily Rachel Eskow,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Sheldon and Diane Eskow of
Mission Viejo, Calif., former-
ly of West Bloomfield,
celebrated her bat mitzvah
last month at Temple Eliat in
Mission Viejo. Former
Detroiter Rabbi David Jessel
conducted the services along
with Rabbi Joseph Chazan of
Laguna Beach, Calif.
Emily is a. student at
Newheart Junior High in
Mission Viejo. Joining her
from Michigan were her
grandmother, Mrs. Norman
Segal of Farmington Hills;
grandparents Max and Bella
Bassin (Bella Geliebter
Eskow) of Detroit; uncles and
aunts, Drs. Andrew and Alice
Segal of Birmingham; Gerry
and Sharon Diskin of Oak
Park; Steve and Linda Weiss,
and their sons, Jason and
Jeremy of Farmington Hills;
cousins Richard and Phyllis
Segal of Birmingham; and
friends, Dr. Harvey and Anita
Zalesin of Birmingham. Emi-
ly's childhood friends Bonnie
Coleman and Matt Diskin of
West Bloomfield also at-
tended the celebration.

honor at the Westin South
Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa
Mesa, Calif.

Danny Harold, son of Dr.
David and Susan Harold, will
celebrate his bar mitzvah
with his Russian Jewish
twin, Roman Faingersh, son
of Mira and Mikhail Fa-
ingersh of Kishinev, on Satur-
day at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Danny was given his twin
from the Soviet Jewry Com-
mittee of the Jewish Com-
munity Council almost one
year ago and has written
many times, but received on-
ly one indication that a letter
was received.
The Faingershes are the
only remaining members of
the family who have not been
given permission to leave for
Israel.
Members of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek will be asked to send
letters of congratulation to
the Faingersh family at: Bub-
