Beginning at Dexter and Cortland in 1947, Spitzer has had locations at Wyoming and Curtis, Coolidge and Ten Mile and currently is at the Harvard Row mall in Southfield. A native of Czechoslovakia and a Holocaust survivor, Spitzer came to the U.S. in 1946 and married his wife, Helena, in 1947. His wife helps part-time in the store, waiting on customers and do- ing some bookkeeping. Nephew Avrohom Plotnik is his partner.Bookkeeper Ella Dzialowski has been with him for more than 20 years.
