Attendance is limited. "Chanukah Highlights" will feature Avra Weiss, soprano; Sidney Resnick, baritone; Lillian Zellman, pianist; and the "Center Candle-eers." The nominal admission in- cludes refreshments. "Feivel Celebrates Chanukah," Dance and Music of the Shtetl, directed by Har- riet Berg and presented by the Tuesday Troupers, Tues- day Twinkletoes and the Senior Adult Folk Dancers directed by Sonny Lipenholtz, will take place in the JPM lobby at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The nursery school children will light the Chanukah menorah. "Help! — What Form Do I Use? Unraveling the World of HMOs, PPOs, and DRGs" will be discussed at the lec- ture presented by Michael Lichterman, director of plan- ning, Sinai Health Services, and Linda Height, financial services, Sinai Hospital at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the JPM assembly hall. The second part of the movie, Rhapsody in Blue, will be shown in the JPM assembly hall at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The senior adult kazoo band, under the direction of Sonny Lipenholtz, will play traditional Chanukah melo- dies following a candlelight- ing ceremony conducted by several Russian students, who are studying English. This intergenerational inter- cultural program will take place in the JPM lobby at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. A trip to Neil Simon's play, Biloxi Blues, will leave at 1 p.m. Wednesday. A program presented by the Russian-English Language students along with a candlelighting service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the JPM lobby. The culture club will have its annual Chanukah party at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Jaffe Hall of the JPM. Entertain- ment will be provided by vocalist Ruth Goldman, ac- companied by Kelly Smith. A special Chanukah story will be told by Julie Sabes, nursery school teacher, and the children will light the menorah at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 18 in the JPM lobby. Israel Topic For Seniors A discussion on "Israel and Its Attempts to Have Peace," led by Abe Gornbein, will take place Monday at 1 p.m. in room 239 of the main Jewish Community Center. LOCAL NEWS imm Nursery Has Winter Special Shaarey Zedek Beth Hayel- ed Nursery will offer a special winter wonderland Dec. 21-31 at the synagogue. The pro- gram will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with extend- ed hours option from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 2:30-5:30 p.m. Children ages 2 1/2-6 may sign up for one or two weeks. Activities include arts and crafts, outdoor play, gym time and a lunch period. Enroll- ment is limited and will be honored on a first-come basis. The nursery is also accep- ting enrollment for its parent/toddler and Terrific Two's programs. Parent/tod- dler classes are for children 16-30 months and are taught by Janet Pont. Chai Lifestyles To Celebrate Chai Lifestyles for gay and lesbian Jews and friends will hold its annual Chanukah party on Sunday at 2 p.m. There will be party games, latkes and a grab-bag gift ex- change.
