Shoshana Cardin The Jewish Welfare Federa- tion and its Agencies Educa- tion Committee will present the opening session of an education series for JWF and agency board members 9:30 a.m. Dec. 20 at the United Hebrew Schools. With the theme "Com- munity Connections," the meeting will feature a keynote address by Shoshana Cardin, immediate past presi- dent of the Council of Jewish Federations. Cardin served as CJF's first woman president from 1985 until last month. Among her goals was to develop ciciser connections between all Jewish communities. Cardin will discuss the philosophy and purpose of a federation, and what each agency means to the organization's "family." Agency board members will divide up into workshops where they will brainstorm on projects to benefit the com- munity. The meeting is designed to steer board members in their develop- ment as effective community leaders.
