have been scheduled are be-
ing transferred to Machus Sly
Fox in Birmingham.
Machus will be restaura-
teur for the new Auburn Hills
Arena . . . and will operate its
full-service restaurant, ban-
quet facility and cocktail
lounge (capacities of 250, 300
and 150 respectively) . . . as
well as cater 180 luxury
suites.
Scheduled to open in the
fall of 1988, the 20,000-seat
multi-faceted Auburn Hills
Arena, future home of the
Detroit Pistons, is expected to
showcase a panorama of
premier entertainment, spor-
ting events, major concerts,
family amusement spec-
taculars like circuses and ice
shows, and collegiate and pro-
fessional sporting events .. .
Over 150 activities are slated
annually.
BEFORE IT'S TIME
Bonaventure Restaurant that
closed in 1979 at Top of Troy
Bldg. on W. Big Beaver had
four partners . . . All went
separate ways . . . and now
two are back together again
. . . working at the new TK's
dining and spirits operation
on Ten Mile and Southfield,
former locale of Dimitri's of
Southfield.
Costas Kirakopoulos was
the front man (Caesar salad
and Flambe'd foods tableside
par excellence) and Doug
Wong, Bonaventure's chef.
People looked everywhere
for Costas . . . to enjoy his ex-
pertise . . . and some found
him managing Royalty House
in Warren or Bonnybrook
Country Club . . . He is now
manager at TK's and Doug is
chef.
But Costas hasn't lost his
deft touch . . . deboning a
Dover sole for the first time in
nine years . . . with nary a
bone to be found.
Costas was dining captain
and one of the originals who
opened the former Mauna
Loa on W. Grand Blvd. for at-
torney Bob Fenton and Jerry
Cohen . . . His Caesar salad
making is superb . . . and
Costas has been noted as a
king at tableside cooking.
Folks can call ahead to TK's
and he'll have the necessary
ingredients ready for them
. . . Or, if he has the stuff han-
dy, Costas will make the
flambe'd dishes . or desserts.
It's quite right that Costas
