B'not Mitzvah

Danielle Gill, daughter of
Freda and Banjamin Gill, and
Cara Ianni, daughter of Mar-
sha and Lawrence Ianni, will
twin their b'not mitzvah
celebration with Asya
Vaisman, daughter of Riva
and Ilya Vaisman of Cher-
novitskaya Oblast, USSR, 9
a.m. Saturday at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Ilya Vaisman applied for
emigration in 1977 after com-
pleting his army service. He
served as a cook on board a
navy vessel in 1971-1972.
After demobilization,
Vaisman studied carpentry,
but was unable to find a job
when prospective employers
learned of his intention . to
emigrate. He finally found
employment as an auto
mechanic but at half the
salary of his coworkers.
His wife, Riva, sometimes
finds work as a supermarket
cashier. Meanwhile,
Vaisman's family waits for
them to join them in Beer-
sheba, Israel.
Danielle and Cara have
written to Asya and will at-
tempt to reach the family by
phone.

Daniel Eric Dzodin, son of
Isabel and Milton Dzodin of
Southfield, observed his bar
mitzvah Nov. 28 at Cong.
Beth Abraham Hillel Moses.
Daniel was joined by his
sister, Hilary, and by his
brother, Brian.
Also joining Daniel were his
grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Trunsky and Ela
Dzodin. Relatives from New
York and Canada and his
family and friends were on
hand to help him celebrate
this special occasion.

Julie twinned her bat mitz-
vah with Irina Kaplan,
daughter of Dolores and
Mikhail Kaplan of Minsk,
U.S.S.R. Julie has written
several times to Irina but
