Mr. and Mrs. Irving Kirzner
of Windsor, Ont., were joined
in Israel this summer by their
son, Dr. Gerald Kirzner, and
daughter-in-law Judith, and
their children Jessica Kate
and Joel Ari of Southfield and
Judith's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Weiss of Brooklyn, N.Y.,
to dedicate a memorial tablet
in Canada Park.
On the tablet were the
names of the senior Kirzner's
family who died in the
Holocaust and the parents of
Mrs. Kirzner, who were early
settlers in the city of Windsor.
While in Israel the families
celebrated the bat mitzvah at
Masada of Jessica Kate, who
is named for her late great-
uncle, Rabbi Sydney K.
Mossman and her late great-
aunt, Mrs. Kate Winston,
who was active in the
Women's Jewish national
Fund Council of Greater
Detroit.
Rabbi Mossman was the
first Jewish boy in Windsor to
have his name inscribed in
the Golden Book honoring his
bar mitzvah. Jessica has so
been honored by her parents.
While visiting the Keren
Kayemeth Building in
Jerusalem, the younger Kirz-
ners saw their names in the
Sefer Hayeled, the children's
book honoring their births by
their grandparents in
Windsor.
On the Sabbath of her
return from Israel, Jessica,
who is a student at the Hillel
Day School, delivered a Dvar
Torah at Young Israel of
Southfield.
Sara Kirzner is treasurer of
the Jewish National Fund
Council of Windsor and her
husband is public relations
chairman.
