"I don't know. I'll have to wait till it's all over and then I'll decide." Gunsberg was certainly pleased with the turnout. As for the first event, she said that also went, "real well. We had approximately 90 people there, and considering it was a very heavy bar and bat mitzvah night, we were real- ly pleased with the turnout for the first activity. That was really the first available Saturday night the kids had for a bar or bat mitzvah because of all the Jewish holidays during the months of September and October. So I was real pleased with the turnout." Gunsberg also received good feedback from both kids and parents and "I already have 20 members — 20 people signed up to become members of the program, and they just attended one activity, so the way I look at it, that's pretty good:' Gunsberg says the Teen Connection would like to put together one event every three-to-four weeks. Their next event will be a day-long Chanukah party at Camp Mass on Dec. 20. As for future events, Gunsberg says, "I'm going to schedule Pistons' games, and a skating party at Bonaven- ture. And we're hoping to go to Windsor. There's a Windsor Teen Connection program and we're hoping to go to Windsor one day and meet up with that program." How does Gunsberg see the program evolving? "I imagine we'll have a couple hundred members, I hope. There are many, many teens in this area who are seventh and eight- graders . . . who have ab- solutely nothing to do besides going to bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs on Saturdays and Sundays. And this way they have activities to participate in. So I'm hoping for at least 100 people joining, minimum. And so far it's been real suc- cessful." ❑ B'nei Akiva Offers Pen Pals To mark the beginning of B'nei Akiva's celebration of Israel's 40th year of in- dependence, the group will open an American-Israeli Pen Pal Club for all its members.
