'"Imi LOCAL NEWS Adventure Center Open At the Tamarack Adventure Center Sunday through Thursday visitors can help local artist, Iry Berg build a giant community Chanukah menorah to be lit all eight nights of Chanukah. At the same time, youngsters can make their own Chanukah candles, menorahs, dreidels and other Chanukah-related crafts. On Wednesday, there will be a variety of exotic animals to look at, touch, and learn about. On Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. until noon there will be a pre- school story hour featuring Corinne Stavish and a dreidel factory for parents and kids. From 3 to 5:30 p.m. there will be an archeological dig where second through fifth graders can reconstruct the past. A Chanukah quiz show will be featured for sixth through eight graders from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 17. There is an admission charge. For information call the Adventure Center, 350-8710. New Year's Eve Party Planned The Jewish Community Center will host a New Year's Eve Celebration including a buffet dinner, Broadway show and dancing to a live band.
