At The Machon

Machon LTorah, the Jewish
Learning Network of
Michigan, has recently
established the Abraham
Korbman Tape Library.
The library contains hun-
dreds of cassette tapes on
Jewish themes and many
recorded lectures of Jewish
educators, such as Rabbi
David Gottlieb and Noach
Weinberg. Also included is a
complete series on the
Mishnah and tapes on the
weekly Torah portion.
The library plans to expand
its services to include topics
such as Jewish history and
contemporary Jewish law and
a videotape section.

Project Otzma
Scholarships

Project Otzma has begun
recruiting college-age
students for its third year. A
limited number of scholar-
ships are still available.
The program is geared
towards mature, highly
motivated students age 18-24,
who want to learn first-hand
about Israel's history,
language, culture and
lifestyle.
Otzma (strength) par-
ticipants will spend their first
three months on a kibbutz
and divide their time between
intensive language study
(ulpan), work and integration
into the social and cultural
life of the kibbutz.
Volunteers will also tutor
and work with Israeli teens.
The final months are spent
doing community service
work in Ramle, Detroit's Pro-
ject Renewal sister city.
