Diagnosis
Improved

Jerusalem — Faster, more
efficient treatment of tem-
poral arteritis, a dangerous
inflammation of the blood
vessels of the temporal region
and the brain — has been
made possible as the result of
a new diagnostic method
developed by researchers at
the Koret School of
Veterinary Medicine at the
Hebrew University of
Jerusalem and physicians at
Kaplan Hospital.
Research carried out by a
staff headed by Dr. Aaron
Mashiach and Prof. Israel
Hod proved that through the
use of the electronic scanning
microscope it is possible to
significantly reduce the time
required for diagnosing the
disease.
