Habonim Slates
Open House

"Habonim is Happening,"
an open house for families in-
terested in the Habonim-Dror
youth group, will take place
at 2 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Jewish
Community Center's Camp
Ruth in West Bloomfield.
Habonim seeks boys and
girls, grades four through
seven, to join its Detroit
branch.
While kids participate in an
afternoon of Israeli winter
sports and activities — in-
cluding map making with ice
cream — parents will have
the opportunity to learn
about Habonim's activities
and philosophy.
The community is invited
at no charge. Refreshments

The youth activities depart-
ment, in conjunction with the
men's club and sisterhood,
will have a Chanukah dinner
and party for families at 6:30
p.m. Dec. 17 with dinner, and
there will be a Chanukah par-
ty for all the youth im-
mediately following dinner.
There is a nominal charge for
dinner. There will be clowns,
a grab bag and games. To at-

Students Will
Demonstrate

Several students of the
Community Jewish High
Schol will go to Washington,
D.C. Dec. 6 where they will
demonstrate for freedom for
Soviet Jews.
The group includes: Sherry
Domstein, Liz Greenberg,
Jackie Kaufman, Danielle
Litt and Shawn Stearn.
On Dec. 10, the director of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, Mort Plotnick, will speak
to United Hebrew School
students on Jewish identity.

Moves Offices

Loan Association has moved
to a new suite of offices in the
Sigmund and Sophie Rohlik
Wing of United Hebrew
Schools.
Office hours are Tuesday
and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
and Sunday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Interviews are conducted on
Sunday, by appointment.
Hebrew Free Loan Associa-
tion loans money for medical
expenses and other emergen-
cies, to peple who have no
other resources available.

Jabotinsky
Group Meets

Jabotinsky Society of Herut
Zionists of America will pre-
sent a pre-Chanukah musical
program with Yiddish, Israeli
and English songs performed
by vocalist Phyllis Bratt and
Lillian Zellman at the piano
at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
A catered full-course dinner
and beverages will be served.
