Mix into stiff dough. Wrap in
rolls in waxed paper. Store in
refrigerator. Slice about 1/2
inch thick. Bake in 325-degree
oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

• 1 cup chopped pecans

OVERNIGHT PARTY

PECAN KISSES

This treat is especially nice
for a sweet tray to be served
at a bridal shower or a

luncheon.

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
1 tsp. vinegar
1 and % cups pecan halves or
broken pieces

In mixing bowl beat egg
whites with salt until soft
peaks form. Gradually beat in
sugar, vinegar and vanilla.
Continue beating until very
stiff. Fold in pecans. Drop by
tsp. on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 300 degrees for 15 to
20 minutes or until firm.
Cookies should remain light
colored. Cool on racks.

Marzipan always adds
something to a sweet table,
and you'll find it surprising-
ly easy to make.
• 1/4 cups fine seminola

1/4 cup sugar
1 cup confectioner's sugar
pinch of salt
1 egg white
1 tsp. almond essence
1/4 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. rum
drop of yellow food coloring

Mix the dry ingredients,
then work in the egg white to
make a heavy paste. Add the
almond essence, lemon juice
and food coloring. As the size
of eggs differ, you have to add
a little more confectioner's
sugar. Roll into logs or
marble-sized balls and then in
cocoa for a coating.

BRANDY OR RUM
BALLS

If you have left over cake no
one seems to want to eat, put
it in the food processor or
blender to make crumbs for
brandy or rum balls.
• 1 and % cups cake crumbs

• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 1 cup ground walnuts
• 1/ cup brandy or rum coconut

Mix dry ingredients
together. Add brandy or rum.
Mix well. Add a bit of water
if necessary. Moisten hands
and make small balls. Roll in
coconut. Place in a closed tin
container. Serve the next day.

z cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
coconut

Combine ingredients into a
dough. Form into 1-inch halls.
Bake at 350 degrees for 3 5
minutes. Roll in coconut. Put
into small paper cupcake
papers.
