Community Council's
chartered flights to
Washington, D.C. Dec. 6. The
Detroit contingent will join a
mass rally in support of
Soviet Jewry in advance of
the scheduled Mikhail
Gorbachev-Ronald Reagan
summit meeting.
The two jets chartered by
the JCCouncil have 110 seats
still available.
Several youth groups in the
Detroit area have scheduled
delegations to attend the
Washington Mobilization.
Michigan State Temple Youth
has taken 45 seats; Temple
Israel has taken seats for 25
students and three adults;
United Synagogue Youth,
Hillel Day School and the Na-
tional Conference of
Synagogue Youth account for
an additional 28 seats.
Jewish student organiza-
tions at the University of
Michigan, Michigan State,
Wayne State and Oakland
University have reserved 32
seats.

Master of ceremonies David
Mondry gave a masterful
speech at Sunday's Holocaust
Memorial Center dinner,
outlining the purpose and
goals of the HMC. But he
faltered briefly, and joined the
audience in laughter, after he
identified his friend, U.S.
Senator Donald Riegle, as
"Donald Regan."
Both Mondry and Riegle
recovered nicely as Riegle ex-
plained, "With Reagan,
(Treasury Secretary) Regan,
and Riegle in Washington, it
is easy to mix them up."
Riegle and his wife pledged
$2,000 to the HMC at the
event.
