POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:

YOUTH DIRECTOR

The Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw
County is seeking qualified applicants for the
position of Director of Youth Programs. The
youth director reports to the Executive Direc-
tor and has responsibility to develop, direct and
supervise programs for preschoolers and youth.

Qualifications require a Master's degree with
emphasis on early childhood education, child
development or a child-related field (or the
equivalent combination of education and work
experience) ; a minimum of two years ex-
perience in child-related program administra-
tion and supervision is necessary. Two years
preschool teaching experience is desirable. Ex-
cellent communication skills, a demonstrated
sensitivity to the learning styles of children and
a commitment to appropriate developmental
programming are strongly preferred. A
knowledge of the structure and dynamics of
the Jewish and general community setting in
which he/she operates and ability to relate
to various groups appropriately An interest and
concern for the continuity of Jewish life and an
orientation toward Jewish values.
