Near 12 Mile Rd. bet. Evergreen & Southfield New Program At High School A new program of Jewish studies enrichment is being offered to the mid-week students of the Community Jewish High School. Scholars, experts in various fields and activities of Jewish educa- tional value will be included in the program. Community Jewish High School students will par- ticipate in the Interfaith Youth Symposium on Dec. 16 at the Holocaust Memorial Center. On Sunday, there will be a full day tour of Jewish Detroit for eighth graders of Community Jewish High School and Shaarey Zedek. They will begin with an ar- chitectural tour of three synagogues, Young Israel of Southfield, Temple Beth El and Beth Abraham Hillel Moses. Following a kosher lunch at the main Jewish Community Center, the shaliach, Yefet Ozery, will speak on "The Detroit-Israel Connection" and Elliot Sorkin will talk about "Jewish Camping." Mrs. Ann Begel will con- duct a tour of the Fleischman Residence and explain how the community serves the needs of the elderly. The last stop is the Lubavitch Founda- tion in Farmington where students will visit a tradi- tional cheder. Teens Will Rollerskate The junior National con- ference of Synagogue Youth affiliate will have its first event, a rollerskating party, at Bonaventure on Saturday, meeting at Youth Israel of Southfield at 6:45 p.m. The price includes transportation, admission, skate rental and a snack. Convention Set Hashachar-Young Judea, the youth organization spon- sored by Hadassah, will have its Michigan region conven- tion Dec. 4-6 at the Jewish Community Center in Ann Arbor. The convention is open to all third through 12th graders in Michigan. There is a charge. Transpor- tation will be provided from the Hadassah House in West Bloomfield.
