Pritz, Director IN' Teen To Twin Bar Mitzvah David O'Desky, son of Lin- da and Gerard O'Desky, will twin the observance of his bar mitzvah at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mat Shalom Synagogue with Stanislav Gorshunsky, son of Klaudia and Alexander Gor- shunsky of Kharkov, USSR. Gorshunsky is a refusenik in Kharkov where it is dif- ficult to be active in the Jewish repatriation move- ment because Kharkov is reputed to be the training headquarters for the KGB. The Gorshunsky family was first refused because Mrs. Gorshunsky worked at a secret plant from 1968-1970. The second refusal was given because her father did not want her to leave him and when he passed away in 1976, they used her "secrets" once again. Gorshunsky's mother, father and his sister together with her family received their visas and the Gorshunskys were promised they would receive their visas in a few months. They still have not received permission to leave. Gorshunsky's father died in 1979 and he asked the Soviet government for permission to go to the funeral, but was refused. In 1985, the KGB told Gorshunsky that his wife's mother did not want her daughter to go to Israel but she gave them a letter which has her written per- mission for them to go. David has written to Stanislav and will attempt to reach the Gorshunskys by phone. Joshua Barnett Is Bar Mitzvah Joshua David Barnett celebrated his bar mitzvah at Shabbat services at Cong.
