Jack Gorback

The Gorback Studio of
Photography is celebrating its
35th anniversary. The prin-
cipals are Jack Gorback,
Esther Gorback and Leslie
Gorback.
The copying and restoration
of old pictures is a studio
specialty. Black and white
and color photography with a
full in-house staff of artists is
readily available. Custom
framing also is offered.
The studio is located at
32731 Franklin in Franklin.
Gorback, prior to opening his

business, became affiliated
with the Northwest Record,
Detroiter and associated
publications. He attended the
Winona School of
Photography in Indiana,
which is sponsored and
operated by the professional
Photographers of America.
He also attended Kent State
• University in Ohio for photo-
journalism. He studied
photography, color and
business at Michigan State
University and attended wed-
ding and portrait seminars in
Bethesda, Md., and various
parts of the United States.
Gorback was president of
the Detroit Professional
Photographers Association
(1966 to 1967), and then join-
ed the board of directors of the
Michigan Professional
Photogrpahers Association
from 1969-1972.

Names Stein

Sharon Stein

Sharon Stein, author of
Common Cents and Shopping;
consumer-information col-
umns that appear regularly
in The Detroit News, has been
appointed consumer services
director by Great Scott!,
operator of 22 supermarkets
in metropolitan Detroit.
Stein will write a weekly
column in the Great Scott!
advertising circulars. She will
make appearances in Great
Scott! stores and will be
available for speaking
engagements to
organizations.
Stein majored in marketing
at Eastern Michigan
University.

Early Deadline

The Jewish News will
have an early deadline for
organizational and local
news for the issue of Dec. 4.
The deadline will be 12
noon, Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Items coming in after the
deadline will be used the
following week if still
timely.
