satellite television music
channels in English and
French.
Throughout his colorful
career, he has been a network
radio and television producer,
director and host. He also
worked as an analyst and
manager for Helix Invest-
ment, Canada's largest ven-
ture capital pool.
Before picking up Tamara
at the 1981 Toronto Theater
Festival, where the show
received five major awards, he
produced Miss Margarida and
Travesties. Earlier still he ap-
peared as an actor in the mo-
tion pictures Atlantic City and
The Best Revenge. In his spare
time today, he involves
himself in sports and flies a
twin-engine airplane.
Tamara continues in Los
Angeles and Mexico City.
Znaimer said he aims at a
permanent base for his three
dimensional, interacting
plays. When Tamara has run
its course, he'll seek new
stories in the same vein, with
layers within layers, multiple,
simultaneous action on
various levels. Eventually,
Znaimer plans to take his liv-
ing theater to Europe: to Lon-
don, Paris and Rome.
Znaimer mentioned
another daring project which
he initiated at his home base
of Toronto, a new spectacle
that lets the theater-goer ac-
tually participate.
Tour of the Universe, now
at the CN Tower in Toronto,
involves an elaborate simula-
tion of a SpacePort and
Sightseeing flight to the
planet Jupiter 50 years into
the future. Some 3,000 people
a day buy tickets for the
spacecraft, going through
customs and immigration.
While less than 200 people
view Tamara in one perfor-
mance, thousands everyday
switch from viewer to partici-
pant in Tour.
