Dr. Gene Schramm will be
the initial guest speaker of
Young Israel of Oak-Woods'
winter "Lunch and Learn"
series, Saturday at the
synagogue.
Following Shabbat morning
services, the program will
consist of luncheon, followed
by a guest speaker and
discussion.
Dr. Schramm is professor of
semitic languages and
linguistics at the University
of Michigan. He earned
degrees at the University of
California and Dropsie Col-
lege. He recently completed
research in the grammar of
literary Hebrew.
He will speak on "Who
Didn't Write the Bible" — an
examination of the literary
unity of the Torah.
The community is invited.

Family Shabbat
At B'nai Moshe
Cong. B'nai Moshe's first
family Shabbat service will
be held in the synagogue
chapel on Nov. 21 at 4 p.m.,
according to Rabbi Allan
Meyerowitz, B'nai Moshe
spiritual leader.
Geared to parents with
young children, the program
will include prayers, songs,
stories, dancing and sur-
prises. Non-member families
with young children in the
surrounding communities are
welcome.
Also scheduled that day is
the second in the B'nai Moshe
services of "Lunch with the
Rabbi" immediately follow-
ing Shabbat services. Rabbi
Meyerowitz will discuss "How
Close Are We to a Nuclear
Holocaust?" Luncheon is by
reservation onlyl. Those not
attending the luncheon may
come for the discussion which
is scheduled to begin at about
1:15 p.m. in the chapel.
Book Review
At Temple
Rabbi Sherwin T Wine of
the Birmingham Temple will
present the third of five book
reviews on the theme: New
Jewish Books Worth Reading
at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the
temple.
He will discuss Anne Frank
Remembered by Miep Gies.
Discussion of the book will
follow the review. There is a
charge for non-members.
