Klarsfeld Asks
Jackson For Help
New York (JTA) — Nazi
hunter Beate Klarsfeld last
week asked the Rev. Jesse
Jackson to intervene in the
case of wanted Nazi war
criminal Alois Brunner, who
has been living safely in
Damascus for about 30 years.
According to reports,
Klarsfeld spoke to people in
the Washington office of the
Democratic presidential
aspirant, asking if Jackson,
who has good relations with
Syrian President Hafez
Assad, would help with
multinational efforts to have
Brunner extradited from
Syria so that he could stand
trial on war crimes charges.
Klarsfeld later told
reporters that she sent
Jackson documents chronicl-
ing Brunner's wartime
history and efforts by several
nations to bring him to justice
for his crimes. She said she
was told by two members of
Jackson's staff that a letter
from Jackson to Assad would
be ready soon.
Jackson went to Damascus
in 1984, during his first bid
for the Democratic presiden-
tial nomination, and was suc-
cessful in obtaining the
release of U.S. Navy flier
Robert Goodman.

guard deported from the
United States to stand trial in
West Germany is now a free
man. A trial has been ruled
out for Reinhold Kulle, a
former SS guard, because the
statute of limitations has
elapsed in his case, according
to Alfred Streim, chief pro-
secutor of the Nazi War
Crimes Prosecution Center

'fie is more...
much more than a
convalescent home
or home for seniors.
1- a
Windemere is truly
a very special place.
ecause it provides the
services needed by the elderly
while preserving the environ-
mental characteristics of a
Herman Frankel Organization Residen-
tial Community.
There is complete separation between
the Full Service Convalescent Home on
the upper floor and the Supportive
Care Manor on the lower floor. The
building is on a hillside and both levels
have direct access to the extensively
landscaped grounds.
Rex Lanyi and Herman Frankel, the
developers, are particularly proud that
Windemere both functionally and
aesthetically provides a residential
environment that preserves dignity,
beauty, and maximum independence at
a time in life that its residents require
some medical and social support.
A Supportive and Skilled Care Residence

that created Windemere. You must see
it to appreciate what it offers. Please drop
