The event will take place at the Corn- puware Sports Arena in Oak Park at 8 p.m. In addition to ice skating, participants can play volleyball and raquetball. There will be a live Jewish rock band and food will be provided by Sarah's Kosher Deli. There is an admission fee. Beginning Nov. 20 and lasting through Nov. 21, NCSY will have a special Shabbat program at Young Israel of Southfield. NCSY'ers will conduct both the Friday night and Saturday morning services, as well as the Torah reading. In addition to participating in the services, three Shabb- bat meals will be served. There will also be discussion groups and educational pro- grams dealing with the theme, "Jerusalem, Eye of the Universe." The Shabbaton will feature Yair Zinn, the NCSY regional shaliach. The Saturday night pro- gram will feature a scavenger hunt which will take place in the area surrounding Young Israel of Southfield. After the scavenger hunt, a hot dog din- ner will be served, followed by a Kumsitz. The Junior NCSY group will go roller skating at the Bonaventure Roller Rink Nov. 21. The juniors (grades five-seven) will meet at 6:45 p.m. at Young Israel of Southfield. Cost includes transportation, admission, skate rental and snack. '""1 N EWS Emigration Up New York (JTA) — A total of 912 Jews left the Soviet Union in October, of whom 246 proceeded to Israel, the National Conference on Soviet Jewry reported. Last month's emigration figures compare to 724 Jews who left the Soviet Union in September and 104 who left in October 1986.
