ZESKIND BAT MITZVAH

LISA ZESKIND'S Bat
Mitzvah party at Somerset
Inn had an Israeli theme. A
poster of Lisa as an El Al
stewardess greeted guests
in the hallway. Center-
pieces of important Israeli
sites decorated the tables.
The Hora Aviv dancers pro-
vided entertainment with
traditional Israeli folk dan-
cing. Proud grandparents
are BERNIE and LILLIAN
HIRSCH and MARVIN and
BETTY ZESKIND.

FAMILY CAMP

Tamarack Camps Fresh
Air Society hosted 22
families for a weekend at
Butzel Conference Center.
In addition to the wonder-
ful activities of hiking,
horseback riding, sports,
and games, was the talent
show. Many children par-
ticipated in the talent show
organized by CAROL
PARVEN, family camp
coordinator. JODIE KAUF-
MAN, age six, wore an
organza tutu for her ballet
solo. JODIE SCHOSTAK
and DANIEL KAUFMAN,
both two years old, held
hands and danced with
help from Daniel's mom,
SUE KAUFMAN. The
BARAK and GENE
families performed "Do Re
Mi" vaguely reminiscent of
The Sound of Music. JOR-
DYN BELLET, seven
months old, became fussy,
and her dance was postpon-
ed until 1990.

LOVE STORY

The Business and Profes-
sional Women of the Jewish
Welfare Federation recently
held their opening meeting
featuring the movie Young
At Heart by local film-
makers SUE MARX and
PAMELA CONN. Over 200
women attended including
BARBARA GOLDMAN,
associate chairman; LINDA
KLEIN, adviser; MAIDA
PORTNOY, program chair-
man; and JUDY
FRANKEL, associate pro-
gram chairman. The crowd
applauded the movie which
tells the love story of a
widow and widower in their
80s. The film shows a
positive image of growing
old. The stars of the movie

REVA SHWAYDER
GOTHELF and LOUIS
GOTHELF answered ques-
tions after the movie. "It's
made our life really ex-
citing," says Reva. Although
Academy Award nomina-
tions are premature, Reva
wouldn't mind getting a
new dress for the occasion.

To Infants Service Group and Friends and
everyone who participated in the honor
and tribute paid to me October 21st at
our Donor Luncheon at Knoliwood
Country Club. A great big thanks from the
heart. Surprised I was, shocked I was,
honored and thrilled I am. I am honored
to have been a part of such a wonderful
group for 50 years.
Thank you again, David thanks you, too.
Sincerely,
Eleanor Riseman
