Folk singer/comedian Ron Coden entertains a crowd of nearly 1,400
people at Orchestra Hall as part of the Jewish Community Council's
Golden Aniversary Celebration. Coden was followed by cultural acts from
the Hispanic, Arabic, Polish and black communities as part of the
Council's year-long outreach effort.

Council announces that
Gilbert and Sophie Averbuch
of Southfield have establish-
ed a second grove of 1,000
trees in honor of their
children, Dr. Fred and Dean-
na Averbuch and Dr. Sidney
and Sharlene Beck.
The grove will be located in
the American Independence
Park near Jerusalem. The
Averbuchs recently establish-
ed a grove in memory of their
parents, Abraham and Chava
Averbuch and Benny . and
Minnie Wolman.
The Averbuch and Beck
children and their families
recently established a grove
in Israel in honor of their
parents.
