"1 SYNAGOGUES Nuclear War Is Probed "On the Brink of Nuclear Holocaust — The Jewish Response-- is the topic selected by Rabbi Allan S. Meyerowitz, spiritual leader of Cong. B'nai Moshe, for the second discussion in the "Lunch With the Rabbi" series to be held at B'nai Moshe on Nov. 14 following Shabbat services. Sponsored by B'nai Moshe's Cultural Commission, the event is open to the public, ac- cording to Susan Friedman, commission chairman. There is a charge for the luncheon, and reservations must be made in advance by calling the synagogue office, 548-9000. Persons not par- ticipating in the luncheon may, at no charge, attend the program scheduled to begin in the synagogue chapel at 1:20 p.m. The synagogue has launch- ed the B'nai Moshe "Torah Club" which meets the first Sunday of the month in the synagogue at 7 p.m. The club will explore the Torah under the guidance of Rabbi Allan Meyerowitz around the topic: "The Torah — Evolution or God?" The Torah Club is headed by Larry M. Rockind, immediate past president of B'nai Moshe. There is a nominal charge and reserva- tions may be made by calling the synagogue. B'nai David Lectures Begin held on Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. The topic will be "In the Beginning: Jewish Views on Abortion." Subsequent lectures are as follows: Nov. 17, "To Prolong Life: Organ Transplants and Jewish Law"; and Nov. 24, "In the End: Jewish Views on Euthanasia." The series is free, and all are invited. Klein Music Fund Started Rabbi Morton Yolkut The B'nai David Institute for Adult Education will begin its fall semester with a lecture series entitled "Who Shall Live and Who Shall Die: Modern Medicine and Jewish Law" A series of lectures will be given by Rabbi Morton F. Yolkut, spiritual leader of the congregation. A discussion period and social hour will follow each lecture. The first lecture will be Cong. B'nai Moshe has established the Cantor Louis and Sonia Klein Music Fund honoring Cantor Klein's 70th birthday and as a memoriam to his wife Sonia Klein. Mrs. Klein was an active life member of the Jewish Na- tional Fund and Hadassah. She also served on the boards of Magen David Adom and the Israel Cancer Association and was a past member of Hillel Day School, as well as an active member of the B'nai Moshe Sisterhood. Cantor Klein has been ser- ving Cong. B'nai Moshe since 1958. He recently recorded High Holiday Highlights at Cong. B'nai Moshe with the B'nai Moshe Men's Choir.
