Feminist Group
Hosts Lecture

Hillel/Jewish Feminist
group of Ann Arbor will pre-
sent a program by Marcia
Falk, a poet and professor of
literature at the University of
Judaism (Los Angeles), on
Nov. 16 at 8 p.m., in the
Kuenzel Room of the
Michigan Union.
Ms. Falk will speak on the
creation of new liturgies. She
will present her new Hebrew
and English blessings and
will describe the process she
uses to create new liturgy.
Ms. Falk is associate pro-
fessor of literature and
creative writing. Her books
include translations of the
Song of Songs and of Hebrew
and Yiddish poets. She has
published two volumes of her
own poetry and The Book of
Blessings: A Jewish-Feminist
Reconstruction of Prayer is
forthcoming from Harper and
Row.
This program is jointly
sponsored by the Himmel
Foundation, JCA/UJA, DeRoy
Foundation, Temple Emanu-
El, Cong. Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses and the U-M
Women Studies Program. It is
open and free to the public.

will sponsor a Career Day in
Jewish Communal Services
on Tuesday.
Among the representative
organizations attending are:
Mat Shalom Synagogue, Bor-
man Hall, Hillel Day School,
Jewish Community Center of
Detroit, Jewish Family Ser-
vice, Jewish Vocational Ser-
vices, Jewish Welfare Board,
Jewish Welfare Federation
and Temple Beth El.

Has Gym Night

The Wayne State Universi-
ty division of the B'nai B'rith
Hillel Foundations of
Metropolitan Detroit will
sponsor a sports night at
the main Jewish Community
Center on Saturday at 8 p.m.
There will be volleyball, ten-
ths, basketball, jogging and
the use of the pool. No reser-
vations are needed. There is
a nominal fee.
