New Adviser
At Beth Shalom

Cong. Beth Shalom an-
nounces the appointment of
Joyce Lang as adviser to the
Yachad youth group for
children in grades three to
five. Mrs. Lang will lead the
group in a variety of social
and cultural activities during
the coming months to include
a hayride, roller skating and
Chanuka celebration. Parents
wishing more information or
to sign up a child for the
group mailing list should con-
tact Mrs. Lang, 851-6168; or
the synagogue office,
547-7970.
Yachad will begin the year
with a pizza party get-
together on Sunday, meeting
12:30 p.m. in the synagogue
youth lounge. Children will
get an opportunity to meet
the new adviser as well as
help to plan upcoming events.
There is no charge, but
reservations must be made in
advance by contacting Mrs.
Lang.

Melave Malka
At Yeshivah

The PTA of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah and the Sally Allan
Alexander School for Girls
are planning a melave malka
on Nov. 7 at 8:30 p.m. at the
yeshivah building, 15751 W.
Lincoln, Southfield.
The theme of the evening is
"The Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah — Past, Present and
Future." At this gathering the
new principal, Rabbi Rephael
Skaist, and his family will be
officially welcomed, as will all
the new parents. The
teaching staff, Hebrew and
secular, of both schools also
will be honored.
All parents and friends are
invited. There is a charge. For
