Seminary Has
Student Program

Cong. Beth Shalom is one of
50 Conservative Jewish con-
gregations participating in a
nation-wide program of the
Jewish Theological Seminary
of America.
During the weekend of Nov.
6-8, Beth Shalom will host
Michael Friedland, a second
year student in the
Seminary's rabbinical school.
He will serve as the

to teach and to meet with
many of the congregation's
members.
Former Detroiter Martin J.
Pasternak, whose parents
Abraham and Geraldine
Pasternak reside in the
Detroit area, is a fifth year
student in the Seminary's
rabbinical school.

Windemere is truly
a very special place.

ecause it provides the
services needed by the elderly
while preserving the environ-
mental characteristics of a
Herman Frankel Organization Residen-
tial Community.
There is complete separation between
the Full Service Convalescent Home on
the upper floor and the Supportive
Care Manor on the lower floor. The
building is on a hillside and both levels
have direct access to the extensively
landscaped grounds.

Rex Lanyi and Herman Frankel, the
developers, are particularly proud that
Windemere both functionally and
aesthetically provides a residential
environment that preserves dignity,
beauty, and maximum independence at
a time in life that its residents require
some medical and social support.

Words cannot describe the feelings
that created Windemere. You must see
it to appreciate what it offers. Please drop
in or call 661-1700 for an appointment.

A Supportive and Skilled Care Residence

Windemere is located at
6950 Farmington Road
South of Maple Road

(Farmington Road is open to Windemere during it's paving.)

New York — Prominent
figures in the Protestant,
Roman Catholic_ and Jewish
communities, meeting in the
first "National Interreligious
Consultation on the AIDS
Crisis," called for the
establishment of a nation-
wide interfaith network to
help religious institutions
cope with the AIDS epidemic.

Thanksgiving will be the
theme of the next edition
of L'Chayim appearing in
The Jewish News on Nov.
20. All of the regular
features will be there too:
the Yiddish lesson,
Market Bag, recipes,
calendar of family events
and more. Deadline for
