Fox saw the food decision as
part of an overall board at-
tempt to make Brandeis less
Jewish and more universal.
He said the calendar, for the
first time in at least 15 years,
doens't list the names of
Jewish holidays.
Furthermore, he said a
report issued by the board
last spring referred to the
"mistaken impression" that
Brandeis is intended mainly
for the Jewish community as
"the most serious handicap in
attracting qualified
students?'

French Minister
To Visit Israel

Paris (JTA)—French Prime
Minister Jacques Chirac will
pay an official visit to Israel
November 1, it was reported
last week. It will be the first
visit by a French Prime
Minister to the Jewish State.
During his two-day stay,
Chirac will confer separately
with Prime Minister Yitzhak
Shamir and Foreign Minister
Shimon Peres. French sources
privately stress that Chirac
will spend equal time with
both. One of the highlights of
his , trip will be a meeting
with former refuseniks now
living in Israel, with whom
he last met last year in
Moscow and on whose behalf
he interceded with the Soviet
government.
Chirac will also tour the
Yad Vashem memorial, dedi-
cate a monument to French
Jews who died in Nazi concen-
tration camps and inaugurate
a "Paris Square" in
Jerusalem.

Unrest Linked
To Shultz Trip

Jerusalem (JTA) — Defense
Minister Yitzhak Rabin
maintained last week that
the escalation of violence in
the administered territories
was linked to the visit of U.S
Secretary of State George
Shultz.
Rabin told reporters it was
possible that "outside ele-
ments" were trying to stir up
trouble and create an at-
mosphere of disorder before
Shultz's visit.
Five Palestinians and three
Israelis have been killed and
dozens injured in clashes over
the last few weeks in the West
Bank, East Jerusalem and
the Gaza Strip. The latest
flare-up occurred in Ramallah
where border police opened
fire on rioting Arab youths,
fatally wounding a 35-year-
old Arab woman passerby, In-
ayat Samir Hindi, mother of
five children.

There is complete separation between
the Full Service Convalescent Home on
the upper floor and the Supportive
Care Manor on the lower floor. The
building is on a hillside and both levels
have direct access to the extensively
landscaped grounds.

Windemere is truly
a very special place.

Rex Lanyi and Herman Frankel, the
developers, are particularly proud that
Windemere both functionally and
aesthetically provides a residential
environment that preserves dignity,
beauty, and maximum independence at
a time in life that its residents require
some medical and social support.
