Determined, purposeful and dedicated,
William Davidson has served as President of
Shaarey Zedek and is currently Chairman of its
Endowment. He is deeply committed to Jewish
education and is responsible for the creation of
the William, Ethan and Marla Davidson Wing of
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit, a
Visiting Professorship in Business Administration
at the University of Michigan and the William
Davidson Chair in Industrial and Managerial
Engineering at Technion-Israel Institute of
Technology.
Caring profoundly about the quality of Jewish
life both here and in Israel, he has served as
President of the United Jewish Appeal, serves
as a member of the Board of Operation
Independence and the President's Club, the
highest honor society of State of Israel Bonds, as
well as being an investor in Israel's industry.
Enthusiastically involved in the world of sports,
he is the principal owner of the Detroit Pistons
Basketball Club, the new Auburn Hills Arena and
Entertainment Center and is an inducted
member of the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of
Fame.
