A sculpture of Max M.
Fisher will be dedicated
Wednesday at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield.
The bronze bust, to be per-
manently displayed in the
lobby area of the Jewish Com-
munity Center, is the work of
artist Jerome Soble.
"It was my idea," said Soble.
"I feel that Max Fisher is
very unique to our communi-
ty and we're privileged to
share his presence. This man
has done so much. My con-
cern is that the younger
generations will know what
he looks like. The man should
be more than just a name on
the side of the building."
Jewish Welfare Federation
President Dr. Conrad L. Giles
and Jewish Community
Center President Sidney
Freedland will officiate at the
8:15 p.m. ceremony, with a
dessert reception to follow.
Fisher is a past president of
Federation, honorary chair-
man of its executive commit-
tee, a former chairman of the
Allied Jewish Campaign and
a recipient of the Fred M.
Butzel memorial award for
dedication and service to

of the American Constitution.
The lecture is sponsored by
the American Jewish Com-
mittee's Detroit Chapter and
is made possible by a gift from
Joyce and Judge Avern Cohn.
Co-sponsors of this event are:
B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion of Wayne State Universi-
ty and Cong. Shaarey Zedek
and is presented in coopera-
tion with the Jewish Com-
munity Council of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The public is invited at no
charge.
