Feminist Future
Is Lecture Topic
Hillel/Jewish Feminist
group of Ann Arbor will pre-
sent a program by Arlene
Agus on women and ritual.
The lecture, "Forging a
Feminist Future in Judaism,"
will take place 8 p.m. Wednes-

the Michigan Union.
At 7:30 p.m. Thursday at

As one of the founders of the
Jewish feminist movement in
the United States, Agus has
promoted women's scholar-
ship through learning centers
and study groups. She has
fostered new ritual
possibilities for women, in
egalitarian and separate
prayer services.
Her involvement in the
nuclear issue has included
organizing a national con-
ference for the Emet Founda-
tion, co-chairing a task force
for the Federation of Jewish
Philanthropies and writing a
children's book on the subject
for the Union of American
Hebrew Congregations. She
has also worked with Soviet-,
Iranian-, and Israeli-Jewish
immigrants in New York.
Agus served as director of
external affairs and planning
at Yeshiva University's Car-
