Annual Institute Day, 9 a.m.
Nov. 3 at the Jewish Com-
munity Center in West
Bloomfield.
Author and radio personali-
ty Dennis Prager is the day's
speaker.-
Publisher of Ultimate
Issues, a quarterly magazine
that deals with social,
political and moral concerns,
Prager is also a popular
television and radio per-
sonality in the Los Angeles
area. The former director of
California's Brandeis-Bardin
Institute, Prager has traveled
to 65 countries and was in-
vited to meet with Pope John
Paul II and speak on Vatican
Radio.
Marcy Feldman is chair-
man of Institute Day, with
assistance from Jessie Stern,

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division will
host Detroit News columnist
George Cantor at a meeting
on behalf of its Allied Jewish
Campaign Kadima and Pre-
Campaign Sections on Oct.
26.
Set for noon, the meeting
will take place at the home of
Shelley Tauber.
A native Detroiter, Cantor
joined the Free Press in 1963
as a sports writer and later
became travel editor. Since
1979, he has shared his per-

Prof. Barry Gross of
Michigan State University
will speak on "Jews in the
Cinema," Prof. Gross is a pro-
fessor of English and has
taught in England, Portugal,
Romania, Yugoslavia, Ger-
many and Israel as well as at
MSU. In the spring, he will
teach in Korea. Prof. Gross
teaches courses on Jewish-
American literature.
