SEND A • Berries In Bon Bons Minnie Loewy Minnie Loewy, former owner with her husband of Lou's Deli on McNichols in Detroit, died Oct. 11 at age 81 in East Brunswick, N.J. Born in Russia, Mrs. Loewy was a member of Masonic Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hadassah and B'nai B'rith. She also worked on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal. She and her husband, Louis, opened a store on Linwood in 1941 and later moved to the McNichols location which is still under operation by the family. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Milton (Patricia) Benjamin of East Brunswick; a sister, Mrs. Bet- ty Solomon of Florida; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ralph Stein Ralph Stein, a manufac- turer's representative for children's clothing, died Oct. 10 at age 67. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Stein was a member of the Bureau of Wholesale Representatives, treasurer of the Indiana Women's and Children's Shows, and past board member of the Michigan Women's and Children's Shows. She leaves his wife, Elaine; three daughters, Leslie, Judith of Panorama City, Calif., and Mrs. David (Deborah) Silverstein; a brother, a sister and one grandchild. NEWS France Inters Jewish Hero Paris (JTA) — The body of Rene Cassin, a French Jew, resistance fighter and 1968 Nobel Peace Laureate, was in- terred in the Pantheon with full military honors last Mon- day, more than 10 years after his death. His casket joined those of 364 great names in French history, including Louis Pasteur and Jean Jaures, at ceremonies attended by Presi- dent Francois Mitterrand, Prime Minister Jacques Chirac, and the Presidents of the Senate and National Assembly. Cassin served as Gen. Charles de Gaulle's wartime Minister of Justice and later drew up the International Declaration of the Rights of Man. He also headed the Al- liance Israelite Universelle.
