Club member William Ser-
man will be the honoree of
the club's annual Israel Bond
dinner, to be held at Tam-0-
Shanter on Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.,
with cocktails at 7 p.m.
Serman, 63, has been a
member of the club for more
than 28 years. An athlete, he
has won numerous singles
and doubles tennis champion-
ships at the club; he was
voted the "most valuable"
Detroit Baseball Federation
player in 1939 and he also has
won, and continues to win,
local awards in squash, bowl-
ing and golf.
The dinner honoree
volunteers 10 to 15 hours a
week as a pastoral worker at
Sinai Hospital of Detroit.
Serman serves on the board
of directors of Sinai Hospital
Guild, and is a member of the
Masonic Lodge — Oak Park
591, B'nai B'rith Zieger
Lodge, Men's ORT, the Zionist
Organization of America,
Cong. Shaarey Zedek and the
Downtown Synagogue.
At the tribute dinner, Ser-
man will receive the State of
Israel's "Jerusalem, City of
Peace Award."
D. Dan Kahn is dinner
chairman; a tribute commit-
tee is in formation.
