Pinsker 60th Marked
The Pinsker Progressive
Aid Society will hold its 60th
diamond anniversary dinner-
dance celebration on Oct. 20,
at Adat Shalom Synagogue,
according to Pinkster Presi-
dent Manny Katzman.
Dinner chairmen are
Dorothy Ekelman, Ruth Katz
and Roslyn Katzman.
The ad journal, a special
issue for the Pinsker 60th An-
niversary, has been edited by
Milton Olinech and Harry
Paull and is dedicated this
year to Sarah Laker and the
late Harry Laker.
The Pinsker Progressive
Aid Society, founded in 1927,
was organized by a group of
families who came from
Pinsk and settled in Detroit.
Under its auspices, new-
comers to the United States
banded together to help each
other as well as other people
who were in need, both here
and abroad. The organization
is one of the last landsman-
shaften groups in this
community.
FREE
Reservations for the dinner
dance may be made by calling
Manny Ekelman, 542-4391.
Guests are welcome. There is
a charge.
