To Spotlight Two

Music Study Club of
Metropolitan Detroit will pre-
sent violinist Corey Cerovsek
and Daniela L. Sikora, col-
oratura soprano, at its annual
Artist Concert at 3 p.m. Oct.
18 at Orchestra Hall.
Cerovsek first appeared on
stage at age 5, the year he
began his career as a violin
soloist. By age 8 he was play-
ing Mozart with the philhar-
monic, and was accepted as a
student by Prof. Joseph
Gingold in 1984. Also in 1984
he became the youngest fully-
enrolled student in the

Daniela Sikora
113-year history of Indiana
University. In May 1987, at
age 15, he was graduated
with a straight A average,
majoring in music and
mathematics. During this
same year he made his Euro-
pean debut, performing in

London, England.
Ms. Sikora received her ear-
ly training in Dusseldorf,
Germany. Upon returning to
the U.S., she completed her
studies at Northwestern
University, and did graduate
work at Indiana University.
Ms. Sikora has been the
soloist and principal with
choral and performing
groups. She has performed in
operatic solo roles and with
ensembles at Indiana Univer-
sity. She has been the reci-
pient of a Metropolitan
Regional Award and the Na-
tional Hall of Fame.
The assisting artist is
pianist and conductor, Nyela
Basney of New York.
All tickets are tax deducti-
ble. Tickets can be purchased
at the door.
