The Council has taken this position because of its belief that the Constitution is a liv- ing document that must con- ,a, tinue today, 200 years after its birth, to protect the rights of all citizens of the United States. Rejection of the nomination is urged because: • The Council is not per- suaded of Judge Bork's com- mitment to protect the rights of members of minority groups; • The Council is not per- suaded of Judge Bork's com- mitment to civil rights; • The Council is concerned that Judge Bork may con- tinue to hold the views he has expressed time and again criticizing the Civil Rights Act, some of the Supreme Court's leading civil rights decisions, decisions creating and protecting the right to privacy, decisions protecting First Amendment rights, and decisions protecting against gender-based discrimination. 47- 10' - /1—' - locked in a safe, ; Ilk lie and gallery POTTERY TO HANDBLOWN GLASS PAINTINGS TO JEWELRY AND HOME ACCESSORIES.
