American Constitution, we
need to spend time absorbing
this contract and its meaning.
We as Jews need to visit
Poland in order to understand
more of the extent of the
damage of World War II. This
will in turn help us ap-
preciate our own freedoms.
We need to review our
understanding of the word
"freedom," and the impor-
tance of being involved with
keeping people free. Every
Jew needs to understand the
real meaning of anti-
Semitism and how important
it is to fight it on every front.
We need to be aware of what
a difference it would have
made if a Pope had spoken out
in 1939 as he just did in 1987.

Colombia To Buy
Kfir Aircraft

Tel Aviv (JTA) — The Unit-
ed States will allow Israel to
sell 14 of its Kfir jet fighter
planes to Colombia — a $100
million deal — to help cushion
the losses resulting from
cancellation of the Lavi jet
fighter-plane project, Israel
Radio reported.
The Kfir, the first super-
sonic combat aircraft design-
ed and built in Israel, was the
precursor of the Lavi, a more
advanced, sophisticated
plane. Because its engines
and other components were
manufactured in America,
the U.S. could exercise veto
power over Kfir sales to third
countries.

In recognition of his outstanding service as a civic
and community leader and his achievements on behalf of the
State of Israel, the City of Detroit, the State of Michigan and the
legal profession.
