Sylvia Simon Greenberg
Young Leadership Award
Presented annually to a young woman
with qualities of communal leadership,
this award encourages the recipient's
attendance at the Council of Jewish
Federations General Assembly.
Beverly Liss has been active in the Fed-
eration's Women's Division for the past
seven years. She is a section chairman
of the Division's 1988 Campaign, a
participant in the Women's Hadracha
leadership program and a member of
the United Jewish Appeal Women's
Leadership Cabinet.

Community Center and on Federation's
Culture and Education budgeting and
planning division.

Memorial Leadership Award
Honoring a young communal leader of
outstanding promise, this award provides
for attendance at the General Assembly
of the Council of Jewish Federations.
Norman Pappas has been active in
Federation since 1982. Among his
numerous Federation and community
activities, he serves on the 1988 Allied
Jewish Campaign Management Com-
mittee and chaired the Professional
Service Division in 1987.
He is a member of the board of the
Jewish Community Center, co-chairman
of the Federation/Young Leadership
Cabinet Breakfast Club and a vice-
chairman of the Detroit Committee for
the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Memorial Leadership Award
In recognition of leadership in the Young
Adult Division, this award enables
recipients to attend the annual Young
Leadership Conference jointly sponsored
by the United Jewish Appeal and the
Council of Jewish Federations.
An active member of the Young Adult
Division since 1979, Betsy Heuer is
the division's immediate past president.
She is a member of the United Jewish
Appeal Young Leadership Cabinet In-
stitute Program and liaison to the Detroit
Soviet Jewry Committee. She serves
on the board of the Sinai Hospital Guild.
