ner Cabinet's decision Sept.
16 to impose far-reaching
sanctions against South
Africa affecting almost every
aspect of Israel's relations
with that country has drawn
sharp criticism from South
Africa's Jewish community.
But it is "within the accep-
table framework of dif-
ferences of opinion between
us," Foreign Minister Shimon
Peres said.
According to reports, the
South African Board of
Jewish Deputies and the
Zionist Federation issued
statements deploring the
Israeli decision and asserting
it would not promote the crea-
tion of a just society in South
Africa.

Revived Woman
.Gives Birth

Tel Aviv (JTA) — A woman
whom doctors declared dead
five months ago gave birth to
a healthy boy at Soroka
hospital in Beersheba Sept.
11. Mother and child are do-
ing well, doctors said.
Orit Kikashvili, 26, who
had been a nurse at Soroka,
collapsed last April while her
husband was driving her to
work. She was pronounced
dead on arrival at the
hospital. But doctors revived
her and, though she remain-
ed in a coma for several days,
the fetus was unharmed and
was kept alive. The child was
delivered by Caesarean
section.
