The performances will be the first for the IPO in Eastern block nations since all but Rumania broke off relations with Israel following the 1967 Six-Day War. The JDO attracted 300 peo- ple, most of them quiet bystanders, to its rally in front of the three-story apart- ment building in which Schmidt lives.
