Dr. and Mrs. Morris Starkman, left, back row, recently hosted a cocktail
reception at Tam O'Shanter Country Club in advance of the Magen
David Adorn (Israel's National Emergency Medical Service) testimonial
dinner honoring Max and Ruth Sosin. The fundraising event produced
pledges and contributions in excess of $135,000 including one mobile
intensive care unit and two conventional ambulances. Pictured with
them are: Philip Slomovitz, and the Sosins; and standing, Dr. John J.
Mames and Dr. Stewart Epstein.

A Pikuach Nafesh Award ("Saving Lives") was presented to Bernard
Edelman for donating this fully-equipped ambulance to Magen David
Adorn, Israel's emergency medical, blood and ambulance service. The
gift was made in memory of his brothers, Samuel and Leonard
Edelman.
