Southfield Has
Photo Contest

The deadline for the City of
Southfield's "A Day in the
Life of Southfield" photo con-
test has been extended to
Sept. 21.
Entries will be judged in
two categories: professional
and amateur. All entries
must include both a 35mm
color slide and one 8-x-10 inch
color print of the same slide.
Entries should focus on one
of several themes: hous-
ing/neighborhoods, business
community, children,
restaurants/shopping and ci-
ty services.
Entrants must be 18 years
of age. Entry provides implicit
permission for the City to
publish winning entries.
Entries must be accom-
panied by a completed official
entry form, available in the
lobby of city hall; or from the
City of Southfield Communi-
ty Relations Department,
354-4854.

Soloists Listed
For Concert

Music Study Club of
Metropolitan Detroit has an-
nounced soloists for the An-
nual Artist Concert to be held
Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. at Orchestra
Hall.
Scheduled to perform are
Cory Cerovsek, 15-year-old
violin prodigy, and Daniela L.
Sikora, concert soprano.
Some of their now-famous
predecessors who have taken
part in Music Study Club's
annual concert series, since
its inception in 1936, are: It-
zhak Perlman, Pinchas
Zukerman, Emanuel Ax,
Joseph Silverstein and Ruth
Laredo.
Concert benefit proceeds
provide scholarships for
young musicians, professional
appearances for young artists
and scholarships and musical
instruments for Israel.
All tickets are tax deducti-
ble. Sponsors and patrons will
be listed on the concert pro-
gram. For tickets, call Corliss
Rosenberg, 543-3095.

`Solid Gold'
Class At JCC

Instructor Judie Connors is
forming a "solid gold
dancers" class for 10- to
14-year-olds. The class will
start 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the
main Jewish Community
Center.
The class is open to the
public. There is a charge. For
